The remaining 21 areas discussed are scattered along the northern and southwestern margins of the basin

unique finds

and early stratigraphic work was concentrated around the Tintic ore deposits

and the upper Navajo Sandstone and younger rocks creating the White Cliffs step of the Grand Staircase on the down-dropped block to the west

The valley floor is covered by Quaternary lacustrine and marsh deposits
