Late 19th Century Chinese Wine Table From Shanxi. Chairs Such benches were frequently usedThis gorgeous Chinese wine table is from the 1880s and is made out of elm. It has kept its originality through the traces of red lacquer on the top and the blacksmith made handles. It has intricate hand carvings on the front of the drawers, emphasising the uniqueness of this piece. In the traditional Chinese home, this wine table was originally used for entertaining guests with wine on arrival, and it was typically placed with a chair on each side.
