Olivier Riviere, Losares Vintage:2015 (from 50+ year old vines
$920.00
Description
(from 50+ year old vines in Bons Bâtons)
35% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier
This too is going to need at least a few years to unwind and better flesh out
I had high hopes that the 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes would score in the low to mid-90s out of bottle
this is an excellent wine with outstanding development potential as it has the density to eventually absorb the prominent oak treatment but it’s enough to be annoyingly intrusive today
Olivier Riviere, Losares Vintage:2015 (from 50+ year old vinesThere was no 2014 of Losares, so he jumped from the initial 2013 to the 2015 Losares. There will be no 2017 because it was lost to frost. This is always a generous, round and lush wine, especially now that I compare it with the new Pozo Alto. It's mostly Tempranillo with a 5% blend of other grapes from a vineyard planted in 1930, and it fermented with 20% full clusters. It matured in 600 liter oak barrels for 18 months. 800 bottles were filled in June
