William Morris Evenlode Chintz - Place Mat madhatter Judy Garland (1922 - 1969)Evenlode, designed by William Morris in 1883, was a pattern derived from Persian and seventeenth century Italian velvets. The print involved the use of thirty three different printing blocks to create a complex floral pattern. The dark green background alone required dyeing the cloth blue and overprinting with a strong yellow. Printed onto a high quality 32 x 23 cm heat resistant table placemat with a wipe clean high gloss finish.
