Vintage 1920-1957 Larger Ceramic Copeland Spode Open Sugar Bowl – Gainsborough Pattern Utensils This item is a beautifulThe collectable Gainsborough pattern designed by Copeland Spode is sometimes also referred to as the Marlborough pattern and it displays an almost Asian style of floral patterning together with a scalloped rim. This interesting pattern has often been compared to the Ming rose as well as Indian Tree in its general appearance. Josiah Spode established a pottery at Stoke on Trent, England in 1770. In 1883 the firm was purchased by William Copeland and
