(Please take a look at AOS 17) They are too short to become a quality thread, but is still perfectly fine for spinning into a yarn. Nothing is wasted. In the olden days, they were chopped up and mixed into mud to create the mud walls for traditional houses, which created a beautiful pattern within the wall.
