P-51 Mustang Rollerball or Fountain Pen Franklin Christoph Fountain Pen InkThe pen has a piece of aluminum from a USAAF P 51D Mustang serial # 44 14379. This particular P51 D was engaged in aerial combat with four German Me262 jet fighters on April 5, 1945. Lt. Cowley in this plane was hit and Lt. Cowley bailed out. He landed safely in Belgium and returned to his unit. This aircraft was excavated in 2006 and a piece of the aircraft was purchased and incorporated into the pen you see.
