One of the hardest parts of recovering from my bone marrow transplant was enduring the constant stares due to my altered appearance. I decided to paint "cancer survivor" on all my shirts; if people were going to stare, I wanted them to understand why I looked different. Surprisingly, it worked wonders! I felt a newfound strength and empowerment. The beauty of the shirt was that once
