He regularly travels to the summit of Japan's volcanic mountains, accompanied by friends and strangers, to photograph them during collective baths. Through this work, Yamatani simultaneously questions the body's relationship to nature, in a primitive geology, as well as the historical social relationships induced in the act of collective bathing.
